ABOUT US
Our community is a haven for those who believe in Yeshua and wish to live a genuine Jewish life. We understand that faith in Yeshua and Jewish traditions are not in conflict but are part of a cohesive spiritual journey. Our mission is to show that belief in the Messiah, whether as a concept, an event, or a person, fits seamlessly within Jewish tradition. We cater to those who feel that Messianic Judaism leaves something missing, providing a deeper exploration of faith and belief. Join us in celebrating the integration of Yeshua's teachings with Jewish heritage, fostering a sense of belonging and deeper spiritual connection.

Where are you located?
We are located at 2921 Brown Trail in Bedford, Texas a few minutes north of HWY 121. We are on the first floor at the east end of the office building in Suite 110.

What time are services?
Our services are on Saturdays, beginning at 10:00 A.M. and may last 2 or up to 3 hours. All are welcome and invited to join us. Visiting families might find it easiest to arrive at 11:30 A.M. for the teaching and then experience the stirring Mussaf Prayer event to conclude.

What can you expect at our service?
Service is conducted in English and Hebrew according to the order of prayer in The Tehillat Hashem Siddur, Nusach Ha-Arizal, a book of liturgical prayers (pulled primarily from the Hebrew Scriptures). We read a weekly portion of the first 5 books of the Bible, known as the Torah, from a Torah Scroll, a weekly selection of the Prophets, known as the Haftarah, and a selection of the Gospel accounts, known as the Besorah. Service includes praise and worship music, children’s education (when applicable), and the Shomer’s weekly teaching.

Do we need to be Jewish to attend?
No. You do not need to be Jewish to attend. Magen Yisheinu is a community of observant families from all backgrounds, many are from a Christian church background.

What to wear?
We observe what is known as tzniut (modesty or privacy). The principal guiding point of tzniut regarding dress is that a Jew should not dress in ways that attract undue attention. This does not mean dressing poorly, but that neither men nor women should dress in a way that overly emphasizes their physical appearance or attracts undue attention. There are many different interpretations of tzniut, so people from different communities dress differently.

Is this a synagogue?
We are a Jewish assembly that meets for religious worship and instruction. A synagogue, also called a shul, is a Jewish house of worship. We are a place for prayer, study, fellowship, and music.

Do I need to know Hebrew?
No. Most of the Hebrew is also spoken in English. The liturgy and teaching notes are available in English.
